Remove Virus

When you get a virus in your computer the only thing you can think about is how to remove the virus immediately. Viruses, worm, and trojans make your computer slow down to a death crawl and make some programs inoperable. So lets walk through the basic steps to remove viruses now.

1. Download and Install Antivirus Software
Find some virus protection software here, download it to your computer and follow the installation instructions. Most are pretty straight forward.

2. Do a Full System Scan
Once installed, let your new antivirus software do a full system scan. This may take a few minutes or hours, depending on the amount of data on your hard drive.

3. Remove Virus and Repair Files
If viruses are detected, have the software remove the virus, or quarantine the virus so it cannot harm you any more. Then the virus program will try to repair any damage by the virus.

4. Set up Automatic Updates
So now you can breath a sigh of relief, but don't leave just yet. You'll need to set a schedule for your antivirus program to automatically update its virus definitions. I recommend doing this daily.

5. Set Antivirus Program to Run Automatically
Your antivirus program should run in the system tray at all times, protecting yoru computer while you're surfing the Web, or reading email.
